New BrightSign app plus update for Instagram Collaborative posts in Social App

BrightSign App v2.1.5

• The BrightSign DWS is now controlled via the device state setting in the embed CMS. Setting the state to anything other than “live” enables the DWS; otherwise, it is disabled by default. If the CMS connection is lost, the DWS can also be enabled using a settings.json on the root of the SD card. You will see a settings.json.example file on the SD card after the update.
• HDMI CEC control via CMS: Allows for HDMI-CEC commands to be scheduled and send to connected displays for power management. Includes preset commands as well as providing custom command options. Configuration handled via Device Edit page.
• HTTP Cache Control via CMS: Purges Chromium HTTP cache only (cookies and logins are preserved). Does not run on reboot unless scheduled.
• HDMI Colour space management via CMS: Optional HDMI colorspace, range, and bit depth. Depth can be left unset (e.g. RGB full range only). Ignored for preferred/auto video modes.
• Custom user agent via CMS: Ability to customise the User Agent text string that the web browser sends to a website to identify its software, version and operating system.
• Switch between BrightSign media player and chromium video player via CMS.
• Updated app GUI login fields for better Accessibility
• Bug fix for app messaging is no license applied (previously showed incorrect ‘No Internet’ message).
• Bug fix for older firmwares in setup phase.

Social Feed Content App – Meta Source and Instagram Collaborative Posts

• Updated Facebook source to ‘Meta’ where users can now select Instagram accounts connected via their Meta Business Suite. This allows Instagram collaborative posts (not originating from their Instagram account) to be displayed in the Social Feed content app.
